Portland has a 1% for ART rule (I used to live there and was on a public Board....we HAD to include "art" in our budget.)

If I understand correctly, it seems that you don't get to choose all the art, it being chosen by the hippie arts council. So probably no patriotic art or big flagpoles on beautifully engraved bases, right? Not a chance for an artistic memorial to those soldiers who have died fighting against terror?

I don't know for sure.....I know when I was a the PCC Board I was asked to be on the committee to choose the art, but I did not feel inclined to do so at that time....NOW, I'd probably jump at it!

We are talking about the PRO, aren't we? (People's Republic of Oregon)

The left doesn't believe anything patriotic can be art, and certainly none of the politically correct "art" will be patriotic. We'll just be lucky if they don't erect a 50 foot bronze of Rachel Corrie facing down that mean nasty bulldozer with her leftist airhead.........
