The point of my post was to let readers know that your prediction of Republican doom was not new. I had no idea my suspicions were correct before I googled your post name and the phrase "new political party." You are correct that the post I linked to was a couple weeks after the Nov '02. I should have looked at the dates closer. I suspect If I scoured your posts one by one I could find a simular statement 3 weeks earlier, but I have no personal animosity toward you dirtboy. I just think you are wrong.

I don't think he's wrong. Many conservatives who'd been unswervingly pro-Bush and pro-GOP have become disillusioned with them at an increasing rate. They held on in '04 because they really didn't want to see Kerry win, and in many cases, were promised by Bush's supporters that "things would be different this time". But as he kept sliding further into the big-government and open-borders morass since the election, they've really started to give up on him. This can't keep up forever, unless the Republicans really start to turn things around.
