The job they hold is an ill-gotten gain that they received by breaking a federal law. Another amnesty will simply speed the rate of illegal immigration. Build the wall and deport. Simple solution, and the only one that will stop the problem.

But this is silly. You are rewarding them for breaking the law. If you deport them, there is no punishment. Why would you reward them for breaking the law. Deportation and allowing them to keep all bank accounts in which they've been storing savings is a reward. I just don't see why you want to reward them for breaking the law.

A fine of significant proportions is a punishment for violating the law. I think most countries fine someone for overstaying a visa and then grant a visa extension in return for a fee. Why not fine the hell out of them, bill them for a proper visa and get them documented, and then set them loose to get back to work in a trackable configuration.

I just don't understand why you deportation guys want to reward illegals by deporting them. There Has To Be Punishment. If this is a truly serious crime, why not make it capital punishment? That doesn't make any money for the taxpayer, but at least it is a proper punishment.

I am in favor of letting people in who have two financial sponsors who will sign a personal guaranty and post a bond for each person brought here legally. As soon as that happens you will see whole different attitude towards who is allowed to come here.

Additionally, how do you do background checks on people who live like nomads, have ten names, and no real other anchor to any particular place?

"If you deport them, there is no punishment."

Deportation, and the removal of their ill-gotten income stream, is an economic punishment, and one that fits the crime to a 'T'. I'd personally be in favor of confiscating all their assets as well, and using said assets to pay for the deportation, and keeping the rest to finance a physical barrier, as-well-as paying for social costs of those who are on the government dole.
