Didn't reporters (and I use that term very loosely) used to be objective and just report facts? Thank goodness for FR. I would go crazy if I had to listen to these "experts" to get my news!
Yes, "reporters used to be objective and just report facts."
For the most part, there are no more "reporters." These people are "journalists" and thus have a wider range in what they may write and publish. Some are even "fiction writers" who call themselves "journalists" and are not even near old-school "reporters."
Some are not "reporters," "journalists," or even fiction writers...they are just plain old hacks fronting for philosophical and political organizations and agendas.
Jack*sses.......they are imposters, not reporters. Kind of like "Pravda," only written in English.

It used to be that words had meaning
Reporter - Wrote up just what happened - Play by Play
Correspondant - Wrote up just what happened and added a little cultural background - Play by Play and a little color
Journalist -Lots of background opinion color, opinions on the event and maybe a sentance of what happened - Almost totally color with only a passing acknowledgement of Play by Play
