Exactly. I respect McClellen for going out there every day, and he puts up with a lot of abuse. That said, the press room needs someone tougher. Someone who won't put up with the abuse. I have felt it did from the beginning.

The White House should immediately stop televising these "press briefings". Then the press corp would have no cameras to play to and they wouldn't make themselves the object of that day's news. It's so easy and simple to do.
Act like children and be treated like children.

Same here...that's why I wondered if there was some secret "strategery." I figured if I saw how unsuited McClellen was, surely Rove and Bush could see it.
McClellen needs to be replaced by someone who is not just "a little better" but by someone who is actually as acerbic as the "press" crowd...someone who would give them butterflies in their stomachs each time there was a conference.
Someone who would demand intellectual honesty from the press and hold them accountable for getting it right.
Someone who would hold honest and respectful dialog with members of the press when members of the press behaved with honesty and respect toward the administration and toward the American people.
holdonnow, don't you know anyone like that?! Can you groom someone like that?!
