Paratroopers don't have to be with the 82nd. They could be Rangers or SF. Odds are that Bret was calling them that because the 101st used to be a paratroop division.
Of course it's been a while since anyone got to makes a combat blast and I imagine seeing Death From Above for real would probably scare the insurrectos spitless.

I think many of us use Airborne and Paratroop interchangeably. I thought they all had to be able to jump in. I have been schooled better today.
