how did we EVER manage to win WWII without the media The media was a critical component that contributed to our success in WWII. That's because - rightfully so - it was a full fledged pro-US propaganda outlet. Something about sedition/treason for those that didn't go along. W's biggest mistake was letting the Left politicize Iraq.

Republicans of the WWII era didn't try to use setbacks in the war (and there were many) as a cudgel against FDR (so as not to lend comfort to the enemy) as the Demonrats use setbacks in Iraq today, comfort to the enemy be hanged. Ditto the MSM. Quite a contrast.

"W's biggest mistake was letting the Left politicize Iraq."
And how could he have prevented that? The Left politicizes EVERYTHING.

And here's why:"the President is hereby authorized and directed to employ the entire naval and military forces of the United States and the resources of the Government to carry on war against the Imperial Government of Japan; and, to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all of the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Congress of the United States".
