I'll take a guess and say this is as a result of intell gleaned from the failed attempt to put AQ inside the Green Zone.

Thanks. It doesn't sound like a job for MOABs, then. Looks like the military is doing it the right way.

Yeah, talk about your best and brightest. A shame we have to put them on that wall, but they're the only ones that can do the job. God Bless'em, every one.

I'll take a guess and say this is as a result of intell gleaned from the failed attempt to put AQ inside the Green Zone. That's my guess to. The fact that they are using so much firepower leads me to believe that they have either found a large contingent or they are targeting a huge (read Al Zarqawi) target.

Sort of off-topic, but I can't help but laugh at this photo. One of the "protestors" during the cartoon riots.

A friend of mine was in Samara for awhile. He is home now. I just called to tell him to watch this on Fox.
While he was there I sent him lots of care packages, plus some to get to the right people for Iraqi children in the area.
Who Hoo, I hope we kick some butt there, and get some big terrorists while at it.

I'd guess that this is part of an overall change in tenor in Iraq..
There was the recent spate of deaths that the MSM characterized as sectarian violence..
I believe that was actually insurgents being killed by citizen militias..
In the case of those 4 that were hung, they were identified as having been caught with bomb belts and mortar tubes..
I'm thinking this is the same sort of thing..
Locals are identifying insurgent's strongholds, safehouses, and bomb factories, and passing the info on to "freinds" in the Iraqi military, freindly US soldier contacts, and anyone else they trust..
