These are kind of 101, but I didn't see them on the list...
(I'd have firearms and ammo on my list there as well.) At least a machete or a camp axe with the laws there...a weapon which can be used as a tool, too.
Cigarettes (for barter if you do not smoke), and coffee are good to have also.
I'd make sure you have the means to start a fire (heat and cooking if you have to bug out).
I left out weapons and bartering items like cigarettes, chocolates and condoms...kind of an unspoken understanding :)
