Turning to personal attacks because you can't dispute the facts? Pardon me, Skippy, but I believe you threw down the first personal attack.
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
You're in way over your head with this crowd.

Was one of my son's biggest fears before deployment. He hasn't said anything about them since and I keep forgetting to ask. I thought that maybe they hide in the winter.

It's time for the Iraqis to do their own fighting. Pssssst! Pick up a newspaper every now and again. The Iraqis have been risking and losing life and limb for a very long time now.
Hey, maybe next you can tell the combatant commander that he should be guarding Iraq's borders!!

The facts are: you are taking the word of the media over the word of people with boots on the ground and then accusing THEM of not knowing what they are talking about. You have outed yourself as a complete moron.

looks like all hell is about to break loose over there. Or not. The MSM is salivating over the prospect, for domestic political reasons. There's a hell of a lot more to this than any MSM reporter can tell you -- because they're mostly staying safe in the Green Zone, and listening to their "sources," who generally have their own agendas.
The MSM are worse than useless as sources of information about Iraq.

What do you say now that tapes have come out detailing Saddam's relationship with Al Qaeda and even the Taliban?
You're the one the other day on the thread who was saying no such relationship exists. It must stink to be you and wrong so often.

Some soldiers in my kid's platoon caught a camel spider and a scorpion. They put them in a barrel and placed bets. The scorpion won.

What I'm seeing is the media getting hyperbolic about it, as usual. Thanks, Allegra, for the in-theatre view. Here's the million dollar question: how are the mediots getting their information? Do they ever leave the Green Zone?

Lol skip spelling back in kindergarten? I suggest you correct your grammar before worrying about the spelling of others. And a refresher on geography may come in handy, too.
I have a feeling you'll be having plenty of free time soon enough.
