Mercy! I think the basis and logic you use to support our war strategy is whoefully misguided. I agree in the divide part, but not the conquer.
You insist that we are in a war with all people of Islamic faith (divide and conquer, geonocide, etc). If you meant something otherwise, post the correction. I believe this is wrong. We are not in a war with all people of Islamic faith (or with the "Nation of Islam"). Which also goes against your strategy of "conquering" the radical sect of the religion prior to killing the more passive portion of the population. You also mention geonocide. You are scary.
I in no way excuse the terrorists. They should all be sent to their virgins in an expediant fashion. But Christians had their darkest hour once upon a time. We evolved eventually. And it was not all Christians, but a pretty radical sect lead by religious leaders and zeolots.
Now for the divide part; You are correct and Bush, bless his heart, has tried to separate and distinguish our enemy's from "all people of Islamic Faith." His only tool, unfortunately, is media. And as we know, the liberals even shut down his media (propaganda) effort in the Middle East. Forget about the American media.
Enemies of the United States have no closer ally than the American media.
You misunderstood- only the ideology. If Muslims practice their faith like most Christians and Catholics, we have nothing to worry about.

No, you are the one who is scary. Your reading comprehension needs a major adjustment. I'm on the side of reforming Muslims as well as their practice of Islam. I'm not about to hold all Muslims accountable for the actions of an extreme minority as are many warhawks who prefer the genocide option. I only mentioned genocide because I want the hawks to think long and hard about the strategies they recommend and the actions they support. Most Muslims just want to live their lives regardless of their religion or their government.
The precepts of Islam as described in the Koran are incompatible with a country founded on Judeo-Christian principles. To resolve that inconsistency, the practice of Islam or those who practice it will have to be reformed. Just as Christians have had to adjust to life in a free society with sinners of all stripes and colors, so Islamists will have to be tolerant of the laws of the land and not vice-versa. Accordingly, the extreme aspects of Islam ideology that run counter to western ideology will have to be conquered. So in summary, divide extremists (those advocating jihad) from moderates and conquer ideology that is incompatible with western values by reforming Islam and/or converting those who practice it.
