I hope this doesn't mean that the NRA is backing off the contempt charges against Nagin, his Police Chief, and that bastard who tackled Granny.

ABSOLUTLY! The police chief should not only be fired, but jailed for his order, along with the police who actually did the confiscation. "I was just following orders" don't cut it for an excuse ... its been tried before.

and that bastard who tackled Granny. Wasn't he CHP? Kinda surprising that no MSM ever interviewed this guy after all of this blew-up.

"What happened in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina was an outrage," Gottlieb observed. "Equally disturbing is the fact that it apparently took a motion for contempt to force the city to admit what it had been denying for the past five months. It took finding the evidence. Othewise the city would not have any motive to come clean.
I wonder too, what can the court do to the city if it persists in lying? How does the court enforce contempt against the city?

The police are just there to protect and serve. Who or what they are protecting or serving is the question.

Well the March 2006 issue of "Freedom: by the NRA says it was both the LSP and CHP (LA State Police and CA Highway Police) that she (Patricia Konie) had the most to fear from.

The attorney that filed the complaint against Mayor Nagin on behalf of the NRA spoke at my law school (at a Federalist Society meeting) last semester. If you google "NRA v. Nagin" the complaint should pop up. It's definately worth a read. Glad to see that the citizens of Lousiana will be getting their guns back. This was an outrage.

80 million gun owners. F-Troop might want to consider that.

Funny how liberals keep whining about civil rights being violated when they talk about actual criminals, while they are the ones who violate actual rights specifically granted by the Constitution, regarding law-abiding citizens.
