FReeper Canteen ~ What's The Origin Of Your Screenname? ~ March 16, 2006
Ms.Behavin

Posted on 03/15/2006 5:59:14 PM PST by StarCMC

What is the origin of your screen name?

Come tell us your story....

How'd ya choose your screen name?
A situation in your life?
Part of a song?
Your Military service?

For me, it was three times I came across "Misbehavin"
that decided it for me!
I bought a blouse that had that on the tag...
Then my MIL gave me a book about a cat called Ms.Behavin..
Then I heard the song "Ain't Misbehavin!"

So there ya have it!
Have fun!
Please, no politics in The Canteen..
We want our troops to rest, relax and relate!

Now tell us YOUR story!!

When I signed up on Free Republic last April, I was still attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout. rzeznikj was my assigned email/username address from the university and was used with more or less every major transaction.

Having used it quite literally zillions of times, when the registration form prompted me for a screen name, I started typing in rzeznikj. Wasn't sure if @ would show up, so wrote out at, and put stout (instead of uwstout.edu). The rest is history...

To this day, I've kept the rzeznikj moniker precisely because it's easy to remember. Though my new college (Univ. of WI-Milwaukee) has me as jrzeznik. So maybe I'll have to see about changing my SN just a bit.

Or maybe I won't. Who really knows...

When I was in college at New Jersey Institute of Technology (in the heart of inner city Newark), I observed that there was something wrong with the welfare culture, something that corroded the human spirit. Then read The Road to Serfdom.

Atomic Punk Lyrics
Artist: Van Halen
Album: Van Halen

I am a victim of the science age, uh
A child of the storm, whoa yes
I can't remember when I was your age
For me, it says no more, no more
Nobody rules these streets at night like me, the atomic punk
Whoa yeah, wow
I am the ruler of these nether worlds
The underground, whoa yes
On every wall and place my fearsome name is heard
Just look around, whoa yes
Nobody rules these streets at night like me, the atomic punk
Ooo, Ahhh
I am the ruler of these nether worlds
The underground, oh, oh
On every wall and place my fearsome name is heard
Look around, whoa yeah
Nobody rules these streets at night like me, nobody, ah
The atomic punk

I still remember how happy (and surprised) I was to find that my screen name had not already been selected.
