Seriously, I have one rather simple question. And please think about it closely. If we shipped all the illegals out of the country tomorrow, what would happen to american manufacturing and the agriculture sector? Okay, now if that can't work, what do you propose to suggest? Remember, this is an arena for exchanging ideas. Would it bother you to have associated domestic products increase 40-60%? Do you integrate them into a worker program? Do you line them all up in Tijuana on the mexican side and say take a number?

Lets be clear where I stand. I don't have a problem with a southern wall. I don't have a problem with working with existing industry to come up with a solution. And I do realize that something is better than what we have. However, I do think the there is a difference in the illegals that come in. And frankly, the terrorists gamed the system. They didn't swim a river.

Surely, screening of guest workers will eliminate convicted felons. No plan can eliminiate all those who will commit crimes in the future, though that can be grounds for deportation as it has been.

Your assumption is that Illegals working here are vital to our economy. No, American citizens working here are vital.
Dislocations in some businesses that have used illegal labor will happen, and the results should be borne by them.
If it requires (heaven forbid) higher wages paid to American citizens then so be it..the impact will be less than a 5% increase in inflation well tolerable. With More Americans working the increase in payroll will quickly put the lie to the assumption that America needs cheap labor.
As for a guest worker program: An old solution was You have a sponsor here in America to bring you here> the sponsor is responsible for your welfare and work.
Those businesses that need this labor will have more expenses to start a system to provide a sponsor (sponsor could be a corp or business not just individual)
The guest worker signs up with INS at border check points/or consular sites in Mexico and Canada. is verified by them..then a computer listing of guestworkers is provided to sponsors..the sponsor then applies for those workers it needs. we could go into deeper detail but you get the idea..it is not so hard nor is it unfair. We get labor that is identified and limited and control of where they are..so when after 12 months they must leave and reapply. If not the sponsor bears legal consequences if guest workers violate their length of stay.

President Bush has been great on most things except for our border.
He has been great on the war on terrorists.
But on the border he is a gross failure.
He acted fast and correct on the 3,000+ people murdered at the world trade center.
He ignores the many rapes, murders and robberies which might be larger than the murders and money loss at the world trade center.
More Americans are abducted on the border of Mexico than in Iraq!

I believe we should give amnesty to these poor CRIMINALS or INVADERS.

You are bending what the man said. He never said only ILLEGALS commit crimes. Those are your words, as for the rest of your post it is BS. 40 to 60 percent increase in products if ILLEGALs leave the country? BS again.

As for making them leave, all we have to do is enforce the law against the employers, once we start jailing them for hiring ILLEGALS they will quit and the ILLEGALS will leave of their own volition.

The truth is, ILLEGALS cost us far more in tax monies than they ever contribute, and this is before we factor in the crimes some of them commit. How many ILLEGALS that have come in since 9/11 are terrorists? Can you answer that? I could go on and on, listing crimes committed by ILLEGALS, just recently, but I know I would be wasting my time with you, you are convinced ILLEGALS are all harmless, wonderful people who just happened to break the law getting here, break it further by working under the table and driving without a license and when they do have a license it is obtained ILLEGALLY, and this doesn't cover the deaths that drunk driving ILLEGALS cause on our highways and the robberies and sexual assaults and murders they commit every year.

No, they are not the only ones committing crimes but they would NOT be committing them here if they were in the country they are legal residents of instead of being ILLEGALLY allowed in the US.
