This issue, to me, is the most pressing, distressing, and utterly incomprehnsible thing this gov't allows. I have seen it literally change the culture and society I, like you cherish most. However, unlike you, I do question seriously the motivations of those in DC, including the WH and the GOP.
Believe it or not, I have volunteered in many campaigns, etc etc, all for the GOP. However, that does not mean I will support what I perceive as selling out our country. It is worse since it is "our side" that is doing it, and the RATS are of course worse.
Where does that leave us??? Death by bullet in the back of the head or death by slow strangulation. I don't like being told by anyone I should be happy at least o pick my poison.

To think of the deal made of this considering the names I have been called is really telling.

Somewhat heated debate and minor kidding or putdowns are commonplace and acceptable on FR. When the personal attacks get particularly vicious, nasty or violent we'll usually step in if called upon (unless there are no clean hands which is often the case).
Here is just a friendly suggestion. When you want to bring in the folks with whom you disagree on a topic, why not ping them, and pose a question or two, and ask if they have any thoughts on the topic? Then get them to say something, and then pose some more questions, or things they might consider, and before you know it, you will have maybe scored some real points, and they maybe won't even know it! Cheers.

I'm still leaving this thread however, since chris personally and without provocation attacked me without pinging me.......which seems to happen a lot...... and has removed himself from the list of people worth spending time with.
I took your words seriously because I'm sick of being attacked, and needing to defend what shouldn't need to be defended (my tag line). And I have recently been warned by mods when I have done nothing even close to 'vicious, nasty or violent,' but was defending my character against assault.
Sorry to bother you. I really thought that the rule against personal attacks included calling another freeper a 'clown' for no reason at all. It's not the first time I've been wrong about how things work around here..........and it certainly won't be the last.

No it's not. There are some who cry a lot. Even if you are reasonably polite, just disagreeing with them earns you a "troll" label. We just have to deal with these emotional types from time to time.
See my response above. I was unaware of that rule. Some people really need to chill out and relax. I still consider almost every freeper 10000000000000% better than most other people and don't understand why a little roughing can't be see as such.
It was not my intent to cause grief. I am guilty of a recent scathing rant directed toward MNJohnnie, for which I apologize. The note today did help us recognize that proper decorum is important. Especially when we are discussing highly charged, and polarizing issues. Since it appears that the rest of the world looks here to FR for conservative opinions. Even if we are a little divided on some views.
