Like New York Senator Hillary Clinton, Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold has been busy the last few years trying to establish a more moderate public image, sometimes distancing himself from the far left extreme base in control of todays Democratic Party, often working with folks across the aisle like Arizona Senator John McCain, who have already established themselves as world class RINOs, (Republican In Name Only).
As the 2006 mid-term elections draw near, and Feingold begins to set his sights on a Presidential run in 2008, he must find a way to re-connect with that left-wing base if he hopes to have even a snowballs chance in a Presidential bid. It would also help better align him as a potential VP choice in a Hillary bid for the White House.
But the eager beaver from Wisconsin may have stepped too far out on the political rhetoric limb in his recent senate proposal to censure President Bush for his alleged illegal wiretap program operated by the NSA

This embarrassment is one of my Senators. I apologize for the fools who voted him into office.

Senator Feingold is a rip-roaring, self-centered meathead who couldn't find water if he fell out of a boat. Next to him, Al Bundy looks like Enrico Fermi.

No doubt the Milwaukee tire slashers will line up behind him.

The DUmmies are going kadi-kandoo over there, ranting and raving at all the RAT senators who don't support Fiengold's folly.
For fun, here's some samples:
Bouncy Ball (1000+ posts) Wed Mar-15-06 11:12 AM Original message
Every SINGLE Democrat in the land, including elected ones, God, no wonder Feingold said, "Democrats run and hide" from the administration and are "cowering" before the incredibly unpopular President. Feingold must be stunned, like a soldier leading his machine gun-toting men into battle who then run screaming away from the rock-throwing enemy. The censure issue should be on the front of every Democrat's website... [the rest is full of profanity]
harpo (1000+ posts) Wed Mar-15-06 10:44 AM Original message Democratic Senators: Get some FIRE or find another job We, the people, want someone to stand up for us who is in the senate! We do not want to wait until closer to election time, we want it NOW! We want someone held accountable for their actions!
If you do not do these things we want, we vow to find people that will...and we will get their names on the ballots as opposition candidates in the primaries. We will beat on every door in our precincts to make sure our candidate kicks your ass. You either get your act together and start doing something or face the consequences when it is YOUR time to attempt to get re-elected!
AndyA (568 posts) Wed Mar-15-06 11:00 AM Response to Original message 1. F*CK these people! All of them!! I group them all in the same class as Bush, Cheney, Rove, et cetera. They will not stand up for the Constitution, the American people, their party, or their fellow Senators.
They need to go find a new job - every last one of the MoFo's.
And we wonder why we have a Dictator in office, trampling our civil rights and liberties. Killing off everything our ancestors fought for, and gave their lives for.
SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON THE WHOLE LOT OF YOU!
COWARDS!!!
garybeck (1000+ posts) Wed Mar-15-06 10:58 AM Original message Has anyone else called their senator about Censure? All the press seems to be saying that no one is supporting Fiengold.
I called my senator (Leahy) today. I thought I was calling to express my disappointment that he wasn't supporting censure, but found out that he actually hasn't made up his mind yet.
Maybe there are other senators who are considering supporting Fiengold? What kind of answers are people getting when you call your senator?
Let's keep hammering them.

As a former Wisconsin resident who moved to Tennessee in 1987 to get a job after Allis-Chalmers went bankrupt partly due to the UAW, I sympathize with you. If it weren't for creeps like Finegold and Gov. Doyle, Wisconsin would be one of the best states in the union to live in. It's hard to beat sailing on Lake Michigan in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. The only trouble is the springs and falls are nasty, vile, grey, and drippy.

The democrats are upset because he showed their plan after the 2006 elections too soon, if they regain the senate.
