And that was even AFTER she'd carved "666" into her own scalp with a knife!

Yates Remarries Before Ex-Wife's Retrial

HOUSTON Rusty Yates remarried Saturday in the church where the funeral for his five children was held and less than two days before his ex-wife's murder retrial was to begin.
Yates married Laura Arnold, 41, during a private ceremony attended by 100 people at Clear Lake Church of Christ, where they met.
The church minister said Yates chose to move on with his life while resisting temptation to pity himself or seek revenge on people who may have wronged him.
"It is easy to judge the actions of another, as though we know all the intricate details of their life story. Jesus has warned us against such judgments," minister Byron Fike said in his prepared statement. He took no questions.
Yates divorced Andrea Yates in March 2005, three years after she was sentenced to life in prison on two murder convictions for drowning her children in a bathtub. An appeals court overturned those convictions based on mistaken testimony by a psychiatrist.
Psychiatrists in her original trial testified Andrea Yates suffered from schizophrenia and postpartum depression, but disagreed over the severity of her illnesses and whether she knew her actions were wrong.
She is again pleading insanity at her retrial. A request to delay the trial until summer is due to be heard before the trial starts Monday.
Rusty Yates returned home from work in June 2001 to learn his wife had drowned their five children. Noah, John, Paul, Luke and Mary, ages 7 years to 6 months, were found laid out on a bed or in the bathtub.
He got MARRIED in the same church where the funerals were held for his 5 children. That is unbelievable to me. I still cannot sit comfortably or feel happy in the church where my child's funeral was held 5 years ago. At least he married a woman 41- perhaps her fertility will be diminished so that this strange man cannot resume procreating too extensively.
In some gosip circles he knew his wife Adrea had issues and left his children with the demon possessed fox.
I pitty the new bride, pregnant and barefooted, hope she understands this term.
I wouldn't bet on it. He *said* he wants more children ... and this was at a time when the bride was already in his life ...
The minister who performed the wedding has been all over our TV news here, last night and today, just talk, talk, talking about Rusty's *moving on* ...
Of course, then we always have a rebuttal by attorney Parnham, saying Andrea is fine with it and wishes them well ...
Yup, sure. All we need next is for her insanity defense to work at this new trial ... she's sent to a mental hospital for a few years ... then a la John Hinckley, she's cured and wants to have weekend visits with Rusty and his new wife and their babies ...
Both of these monsters - Rusty and killer mother - deserve something they will not get in this society that has more compassion for salmon than killing kids.
In another story, it does say she is also in her forties, so it looks like they may avoid a repeat situation.
But *just* 41 - have you been reading the news lately? LOL, that's "prime time" nowadays. 'Course, there really isn't time for 5 of them, unless some are twins.
Since this tragedy, and Dena Schlosser dismembering her daughter here in Dallas, I'm more convinced than ever that a father who knowingly leaves his children in the care of a mentally unstable mother should be charged with child endangerment.
Never a word about how old Rusty should have done some soul-searching about those he wronged -- to wit, giving his nutso wife exactly an hour to herself a week, and making her have baby after baby even though the doctors warned him not to.
I'm not surprised that this narcissist has remarried -- my only surprise is that it took him so long. I see he had to marry a 41-year-old -- hopefully she won't be able to have more than a baby or two.
