"After being released from jail, Nez may not have had a ride home so investigators said he simply carjacked the deputy's vehicle,"
Seemed like the thing to do at the time. ;-)

His defense will be that the evil SUV manjacked him...
I disagree with both of you. They were probably using pumps beside each other or in the same line. They were getting gas together. I hardly think that it is bad parenting to have one parent beside 2 cars while one goes into the store to pay. I don't need a key to unlock my cap and while I am refueling my vehicle, I leave my keys in the ignition. According to you I should be shot onsight for being a bad parent. Nice to see FReepers blaming the victims and not the criminal. You can both pound sand, imo.
just out of curiousity, anyone know what an insurance company says about repairing damage caused by bullet holes that are caused by the owner of the vehicle?
Actually, on thinking about it, I don't leave my keys in the ignition. Of course, I also pay at the pump...and we don't have too much crime in my area. We do have morons who smoke while pumping gas though. Apologies if my original post is too harsh...
People are blaming both the criminal and the ignorant parents who took a chance on losing their child to an abduction. They were lucky the kid was tossed out. Obviously it's not ok to leave one parent to watch 2 cars with a child in it as this story clearly shows.
Not where I live, although, I would have gotten into the car that had my children in it while waiting for my husband.
Hello, Of course I'm always interested in complying with official FR posting guidelines, and so if you could please be so kind as to post a link to any official FR guidelines page to this thread so that everyone might benefit from it, that would be appreciated.
Alternatively, inviting an Admin Moderator to drop by the thread would be great, as always.
No unfriendly spamming campaigns are necessary, just a friendly, offical word would be nice.
Thanks :-)
Thank you very much for your grace and congeniality....you demonstrate a far greater level of maturity and honor than many here.
Best wishes to you and yours :-)
Sorry, I don't have personal experience in that specific circumstance (fortunately!) but I'm GUESSING that it might actually be covered if you have a Comprehensive policy. I'm thinking that just as you can have your insurance company replace your rear bumper if you back your own car into a tree, bullet holes are also caused by your own actions and so it might be covered. However, my further guess would be that they would raise your premium to an astronomical level or simply drop you from coverage entirely if you were to submit a claim for such a thing.
Again this is just a guess and hopefully someone in the insurance industry or who has greater familiarity with such a claim might drop by and provide a definitive answer.
People tend to interact with the world in ways that are familiar to them and ways that they understand....this may well be the only way that he knew how to gain transportation :-)
As of the last I heard on this, it seemed that Yale was going on as if nothing was amiss and was refusing to issue any statements on the matter, apparently in the hopes that the matter will 'go away'. Hopefully forums such as this as well as talk radio and the blogosphere will prevent that from happening.
Nice tagline.
Thank you very much for your kind words :-) Yours is particularly on-target as well :-)
Although I intend it to be somewhat tongue in cheek, considering that neither of them have indicated any particular interest in running, I do believe that Dr. Rice would be able to decisively wipe the floor with Hillary if that scenario came to pass. She would also make a far better President than many who have occupied 1600 Pennsylvania avenue (Carter and the Clintons instantly come to mind) and I would be beaming with pride if she were to be our Commander in Chief. Miss Coulter would be great to keep her on-track ideologically in the event of any squishiness on principles, and would be able to beat back the jackals in the press without breaking a sweat. A devastating ticket to the Dems, but we will most likely be looking at something completely different in the real world of 2008.
Considering the breathtaking level of ineptitude in the arenas of basic English, spelling, grammar, journalistic ethics and professional integrity demonstrated on a daily basis by the vast majority of reporters, I'm not surprised that such an essential and glaring error was made....an error that was even overlooked by myself until you pointed it out; thank you :-)
Thanks for the reply. Hopefully you also received my FReepmail expressing the sincerity of my suggestions. Here are the basic posting guidelines for the forum. Most of us would only ping Admin Moderators to a thread if someone is posting factually incorrect or completely inappropriate material, so you're fine by us!

Agreed. The people who wish to move the human race forward should be afforded an opportunity to pursue this noble goal free of fear from those who wish to rejoin the lowest of the animal classes.
Of course they would all have to be fixed so they could not reproduce since many females are now as bad as males.
How every true and how absolutely, crushingly sad.
I'm sure that Jesse Jackson might be interested in a new rhyme....no wait, my bad. He wouldn't be interested in highlighting a felon's very real criminal act, particularly a 'minority' felon. Nevermind :-)
Couldn't it be argued, however, that the perp still represented a threat to the community?
Personally, I hope they ignore it. Precedent is always nice. :-)
Me too. :-)
