Click HERE and then when you get to See-BS, just click on "Big Show Highlight" under "DaveTV."
The whole situation reminds me of watching two mangy, rabid dogs fight each other. It's compelling, but you really wish neither one could win.
CBS has to be one of the stupidest organizations of all time.
They gave Stern a year to promote his new gig on their radio stations.
Now that he's gone they're giving him additional publicity via this lawsuit and a platform to advertise further.
They're nuts.
(I give Stern credit for playing them like a fiddle.)
Never mind.
You really still like Stern, don't you? When is he going to cross the line, from cutting edge, free speech guy to just plain DIRTY OLD MAN. You know I can't stand him, but to be playing the victim on this is just incredible.
And now they are SUING Howard for promoting his new gig AFTER they said it was okay. Also they had lots of delay buttons that they could have hit to edit out his mention of going to Sirius.
Like Stern or hate him, he's in the right here. I've yet to hear anyone say CBS has a valid case; in fact, most seem to agree Stern has an excellent case for a counter-suit.
I have a hard time giving a crap about either one of them.
Couldn't agree more, but See-BS is a rudderless ship to even think that they even have a case for arbitration, let alone a lawsuit. Personally I think Stern sucks, and that the deal Sirius gave him could be their undoing, but See-BS is the real idiot in this thing.
Dave Letterman and Howard Stern (along with corpse-like Imus) are well past their prime and should pack it in. All 3 of them were funny and cutting edge about 20 years ago!
Absolutely. Especially Imus. What his appeal is, I simply do not get at all. Stern, OK, appeals to the puerile, fine, no problem, I don't have to watch it. Letterman I used to find fairly funny and he had some good "outside" routines, but the show is coasting along on nothing but fumes at this point. He gets some credit for longevity, I will say, as do all of them.
I am impressed with Craig Ferguson, who follows Letterman late. His monologues (who are the writers?) really flow and his delivery schtick with his accent etc. is "spot on"...
Quoted for truth.
Craig is pretty good. I also like Conan; who has really come a long way. Yeah, most of these guys beat on the president to some extent, but it sort of comes with the territory and I don't hold it against them unless they go truly stupid. Mostly, I just can't/don't want to stay up that late any more!
STERN RULES!
