Atlas Shrugged.

I thought of that, too. Who should play the leads? That would be quite a challenge.

...a right-wing comedy named "Washington Spin"...

I haven't heard of it, but I'll certainly look for it.

...make one about John Quincy Adams, 6th President,...

I'd love to see that. I enjoy historical films, and am a big fan of the JQA's father, John Adams.

The results of the Alliance's experiment are a straightforward exaggeration of the results of leftist social engineering: some people become incapable of taking care of themselves, others turn into criminal predators.

Well, "Halo" is in production, so... sorta coming.

Well, seeing as how "Halo" is based on a video game, I don't hold out much hope for it not being silly, like "Doom" was. However, "Ringworld" has a lot of story behind it, and there'd be plenty of need for CGI - Kzinti, puppeteers, and some of the mutant humanoids. Oh, and let's not forget the Protectors.

Hollywood is all about "feelings" and "in the moment" and "the little guy" etc. etc.

If you look at the world with "feelings" and "emotion" you see things from a left-wing perspective.

If you look at the world from the viewpoint of logic, a sound understanding of human nature and human history, and a healthy does of religion and morality thrown in, you'll see things like most of us do.

I think Holllywood will continue to make leftist films because that is inherently who they are.

I have to say I was simultaneously irritated and entertained by Patriot & Braveheart. Now don't get me wrong I like Mel Gibson, BUT I get extremely annoyed when Hollywood takes enormous liberties with history. To me history has a drama and scope no Hollywood writer can hope to match. The main character of Patriot is a combination of Francis Marion, Charles Sumter, Andrew Pickens and Daniel Morgan all Revolutionary War patriots of extraordinary ability who are in danger of being forgotten!
Also the true story of William Wallace should have been told unadorned with the pointless and unhistorical affair with the princess.

It's been optioned. I've heard it's in production, though I honestly don't see how that's possible.

Wow, now that's news! I looked it up on idmb.com, and it's there, but almost no info. James V. Hart is writing the screenplay, and it's supposed to be released next year. No info on who might be cast. Hart has written other screenplays such as Contact, Sahara, and Tuck Everlasting.

If they do it right, it could be wonderful. And of course it's possible--if they could make Lord of the Rings, they can make anything! It would be a very long movie.

Of course. They're also about advancing the socialist agenda, though many are too ignorant even to realize that's what it is.

Crash was a sexed-up, jazzed-up version of "Grand Canyon" with about the same moral story.... I saw both and can tolerate them, leave it to the left-coast-loonies to sort out their own problems. After all, they are drowning in them and will be screaming their lungs out to the red states to help them ----their calls will fall on deaf ears.....

So do I. In a just world you'd be hired to make sure it didn't happen.

Crash was lame. Statistically, we know why there are a lot of stops made of certain minorities by the police, but we're not allowed to get into statistics unless they support the left's thesis, which is that, anytime a white has a dispute or questions a non-white it is solely due to the differences in their skin colors. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything else, ever.

Conservative/Cop bashing is fairly easy to do in its place. Most conservatives are law abiding religious types, so there's no fear of reprisal. In fact, most won't even make a scene. And if you feed us crap all day long, we'll eat it because we don't want to bother with protests and conflict.

Well, Lord of the Rings wasn't quite as blatant about comparing the Libs with Sauron...

I had trouble getting into Gary Senesses' show CSI NY,however I have always liked him as an actor.

Then I found out how much he supports our troops so I took a second look at the show now I enjoy watching it.

I think Hollywood has lost a lot of us. Almost always, when I hear the name of an actor or actress, I don't know what the person looks like and can't name one picture he, she, or it appeared in. Sometimes I've heard the name, but that's it. Like, I've heard of Nicholas Cage, but can't name one picture he's made.
(I do know the older ones, such as Kirk Douglas, John Wayne, Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Cary Grant, etc.)
I wonder how many other people are like me; i.e., don't watch new movies, haven't been to a theater in 20 years or more.

How about Their Finest Hour.

The epic drama of a man who, through the force of his will and the brilliance of his speech, unites the English speaking world to hold the forces of darkness at bay for one more generation.

Me: "I've lived in LA for 17 years-- that automatically qualifies me as "native."

You: "Not according to us natives."

Me: Rolling eyes at the lack of humor.

Also the true story of William Wallace should have been told unadorned with the pointless and unhistorical affair with the princess.

I disagree.

I wrote a screenplay about a true historical event, a battle, but I added a very intense fictional romance to the story. Why?

It's entertainment. It's not a documentary.

When I summarize the true battle against unbelievable odds, women yawn. When I describe the woman hell-bent on reuniting with the man who came into her life and kissed her like she'd never been kissed before, and keeps having to overcome relentless obstacles blocking her path back into his arms, I have the gals' full attention.

Titanic was history but it wouldn't have been the highest grossing movie in history without the romance. It was an intense story of abiding love. The sinking of the famous ship was just the setting.

There were other Titanic movies that didn't come close.

The legions of teenaged girls who went to see that movie fifteen times didn't go to watch the ship sink.

Great movies are about human emotion, not historical accuracy.

Being conservative does not mean lacking passion and emotion. Such a premise would doom feature movies produced by conservatives.

Lately I've been watching the Jeremy Brett "Sherlock Holmes" movies that were done for British TV back between 1984-1994.

are these the ones on the counter at 7 Eleven for a buck?
