When I attend college, I found those instructors teaching hard courses - computer programming, geology, math, etc. - did not use their classroom as a political soapbox. They taught the subject matter and there was no veering off of it. However, in the soft courses - English, History, etc. - they veered all over the place, usually leading portside.

Yes, English and History are among the worst. English teachers often can require their students to read whatever books that the teacher chooses. An English teacher, Phillip Hu, at Cerritos Community College in CA, for an Intro to English class, requires his students to read the book by Jim Wallis against the Religious Right. HU did that because I had complained about him taking 1/3 of his class time to dispargaging Bush, the Iraq war, and Christianity, in the previous term. This is his way of being less obvious in his indoctrination.

ha! any leftist teacher can use any subject matter to push their agenda. geography can use country locations to push that they think bush shouldn't be in there (because of neighboring countries, distance from US, etc). econmonics can do the same thing, showing how bush's "unethical" war causes strain on various sectors of economy, supply and demand, supply lines for troops, etc. mathmatics can show ratios, use various formulas to calculate rise of costs, be examples for story problems. physics can use weights and measures for fuel consumption, ballistics for bullets, trajectories for missles...
and the list can go on. its horrible how much they use their classes to further their propaganda.
