SWEET Ann Coulter takes another look at the Ward Churchill controversy:
Tenure was supposed to create an atmosphere of open debate and inquiry, but instead has created havens for talentless cowards who want to be insulated from life.
Rather than fostering a climate of open inquiry, college campuses have become fascist colonies of anti-American hate speech, hypersensitivity, speech codes, banned words and prohibited scientific inquiry.
Even [leftists] don't try to defend Churchill on grounds that he is Galileo pursuing an abstract search for the truth.
They simply invoke "free speech," like a deus ex machina to end all discussion.
Like the words "diverse" and "tolerance," "free speech" means nothing but: "Shut up, we win."

Teacher's unions "OUT"
No tenure.
Would be the best thing to raise the quality of education in the country IMO.

I don't buy it.
I have been instructed by a gifted teachers and professors who vigorously challenged me to engage in critical thinking. They were so careful about how they presented it I could not tell which side they personally favored.
I have also been instructed by ideologues, all of them liberals, who claimed to be teaching critical thinking skills but really were doing nothing more than attempting to indoctrinate me and the other students on the state's dime. They were transparent. They were overbearing and lopsided. They were frauds.
Bennish seems to me to be of the latter species: a liberal fraud and ideologue.

Jay Bennish is also a bully. His rants took up 80 percent of the class time.
The student has to transfer to another school because of the threats against the student. He will lose class credits.
Bennish is also a well know druggie who had long hair until he went to NYC to be interviewed by that perky little twit with Matt Lauer.
Add coward to the list.

Hopefully the voucher programs will grow.
Hillary Clinton sent Chelsea to an exclusive private school.
So, what's her real beef with allowing ordinary parents, who aren't as rich as the Clintons, to get the same kind of education for their children?
Could it be that like many prominent Democrats, she's heavily reliant on the teachers' unions for money and manpower so she has to slavishly adhere to their positions on the issues even if the children suffer for it?
Bingo, that's exactly what her opposition to vouchers is really all about: protecting members of the teachers' unions from competition.

Unions are the only thing saving the Democrat party from extinction.

Hopefully he's learned a lesson that will help him become a better teacher - if not, he'll be in trouble again soon enough.

"The lack of 'visible penalty' doesn't mean there wasn't a penalty and we shouldn't assume there wasn't one.. I agree that he most likely was told to "cool it." The face saver for him being no announcement of it.

I will continue to try to improve myself and my teaching ability... That's a clue that he will try to cool the overt anti-Americanism.

I would hazard that this young fellow has lost much. His face has been all over the media. He might bars unsafe for example.

I'm keeping my kids out of CCSD CSAP's in protest of Bennish reinstatement. My email to Dr. Moses was forwarded quickly throughout Eaglecrest and CCSD high schools. In fact, I was just interviewed by the Denver Post today regarding my email. Will anything come of this? We'll see tomorrow. Moses would have fired Bennish if he would have taught at Grandview, Smoky Hill or Cherry Creek because that is where the money is. Overland and Eaglecrest are the "ghetto" schools that Moses could care less about. I'm hoping for a walkout during CSAP testing over the next two days from all 6 high schools. That is where we the people have the upper hand. Play hardball and kick 'em where it hurts.
