Push By Feingold to Censure Bush Could Backfire
The New York Sun ^ | March 13, 2006 | JOSH GERSTEIN

A new call to censure President Bush for authorizing warrantless wiretapping of Americans as part of the war on terror may have less impact on Mr. Bush than on contenders for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, such as Senator Clinton, according to political analysts.

Senator Feingold of Wisconsin, who is among the Democrats exploring a presidential bid, said he will introduce a censure resolution in the Senate today.

"It's an unusual step," Mr. Feingold said yesterday on ABC's "This Week" program. "It's a big step, but what the president did by consciously and intentionally violating the Constitution and laws of this country with this illegal wiretapping has to be answered."

The really astounding thing about the DemonRats is that, once they got a little traction on the national defense issue through the bogus ports deal flap, they throw it all away by having Finegold jump the shark with this silly resolution. All of a sudden I'm feeling a lot better about the Pubbies' chances this fall.

So do I. 8^)

It is easy to stay centered though, by remembering Rush's maxim:

"Whenever a liberal sees a steaming pile of excrement, he just has to go out of his way to step in it."

- and there are so many piles...

Sen. Frist, if he had the stones, would schedule an up/down vote in the Senate asking if the senators support eavesdropping on suspected terrorists.

Note to finegold:

I don't think most terrorists are American citizens. I hope we are listening to their conversations.

If they are American citizens we also ought to bed listening to their conversations. The remarkable thing about Finegold is, with the M-F CFR Act (M-F double double meaning intended) he's done more deliberately to destroy real American constitutional free speech for everybody than any other one person, but now he's crying about the supposed "rights" of terrorists.

Push By Feingold to Censure Bush Could Will Backfire... on Democrats. But Feingold is going to get a lot of mileage out of it with the moonbat base of the RAT party.

So has CNN. Soledad O'Brien interviewed Feingold this morning, and it was a fairly long interview. She did call him on some items, but not what I would call in a tough fashion. No follow-ups. She did ask Feingold why censure and not impeachement. Feingold danced around that a bit then basically called censure a first step.

This coming from one of two jerks who put together the Campaign Finance Reform. What was that about "violating the Constitution", Feingold?

Thou hast too much faith in the American voter... just look at the polling numbers on the ports-deal... most of'em get their news in clever soundbites.

Idiot. The House impeaches. The Senate conducts the trial.

FWIW, I'll bet most of those folks don't actually bother to vote.

If the GOP nationalizes the Congressional elections and reminds voters what they'll get if they vote Dem, namely idiots who want to spend their time trying to impeach the president, I daresay the Dems will have a very bad Election Day. Again.

Dems are so tough on terrorism they kill the port deal and then turn around and scream about wire tapping our enemies..go figure. Leave it to the Dems to go too far and ruin any possibility of an advantage on any issue.

This is only another effort by a Al Quida/Taliban Representative in the Bob & Billie Club (formerly known as the U.S. Senate!)
