It was the kids - they took out piles of books, and we didn't get them returned on time, what with the baby and all. We owe a dollar per book! (I'm annoyed with them, and am limiting checkout to two books each, now!)
Next time we go they should have the fine totalled up, and then I'll write a check.
Ouch.
Good policy though.
Teach them responsibility for their actions when they're young, otherwise they'll end up like George Szamuely.
