"If you assume what Gen Abazaid said was unlawful...and if you assume the Whitehouse told him to say it...then the Whitehouse gave him an unlawful order which he is obligated not to follow. Fortunately, I think both your assumptions are wrong."

"Unlawful"?? Are you quoting ME?? Don't think so, bro. YOU are the one doing the "assuming."

Apparently you chose to ignore my actual quote (post #855):

" My guess is Abizaid (as an Arab-American) was asked indirectly by the CiC to give his 'opinion' on the matter..."

You're right. You never actually say what Abazaid said was unlawful. But that was the subject of the discussion you were having with TxSleuth and Rastermaster. And when TxSleuth says the following...

"I will defer to you that what Abizaid said was not not allowed under the Military Code of Conduct"

Your reply of "You don't have to be military (I'm not) to know what the protocol is." doesn't exactly imply you disagree with his statement.

Since I don't want to assume anything else, is it safe to say you don't believe Gen Abazaid violated any rules when he said "I am very dismayed by the emotional responses that some people have put on the table here in the United States that really comes down to Arab and Muslim bashing that was totally unnecessary,"
