They didn't "do the right thing" 'cause it didn't help out their retirement package....
We don't reward people for "doing the right thing"....our allies are "rewarded" with my hard-earned dollar for being CONSISTENT. Allies shouldn't have to be bribed to get them on board.
Those talking "blowback" proves the point...they are only allies if they get paid and get what they want.

I think it is the good sense of the American public that it would be far easier for al Qaeda to penetrate an Arab firm than a British or American firm. Let the critics play the PC race card with that all they want. Personally, I think we ought to look for a Danish firm to manage the ports....

You're still wearing blinders and lying, to boot. The vast majority of ad hominem remarks, insults, and outright lies, came from the antis; some of whom are still doing that and lying through their teeth.
But, that's your MO.
And no, it has NOTHING whatsoever to do with American sovereignty; NOTHING!

ALL Jim's polls are polls are OPEN. We can go back months later and vote in all the polls provided we hadn't previously voted.

The UKian people owned those contracts. They were selling the contracts. If you haven't checked lately, the UKian people have been "foreigners" since 1775.

It is the worst one. On the new one,
49.0% thinks the port deal bad for America
42.8% think it's good.
6.4% are undecided.

Repeating yourself over and over, doesn't mean you're right.
Obviously on this issue, you're deadwrong.

The clue that everyone should have taken to heart was who was "outraged" first...the deal was going to hit UNIONS hardest. They just couldn't stand for that, hence the phony "outrage". Hell if the Teamsters are against, I could support it for that alone...but looking at what is at stake, HELL NO!
I'm against the deal, but not angered that Bush would publicly support, since he's supposed to do that...building bridges and all. Those who are offended should realize that they have been suckered all along. Congress actually has a personal stake in the matter should be an ALARM waking the sleeping public.

BTW, by educating yourself about ports and other nautical matters you undoubtedly ended up in the same camp as Jimmy Carter (concerning this deal) because you were looking at the same thing and using the same words in the same way.
For all other purposes Jimmy is a creep, of course.

Of course that is stupid. THAT is a protectionist. But clearly you can oppose this deal, or supported a 45 day period, without being a protectionist. And the constant effort to confuse the issue was, well, demagoguery, uninformed, etc., etc.
