Wider than it is tall? ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH & YIKES!!!! Dang, I hate tornadoes. We're under a tornado watch again tonight, but so far, most of the nasty weather is north of us. I'm near the St. Louis area. Last night the twisters were south of us..........thank God! I hope the folks involved with this Wedge Tornado made it through okay.

Hello,
I'm not sure I can imagine a "wedge tornado" hitting at night. Good Lord, how awful. I am in SW St. Louis Co. and so far, all we have noticed is that the winds have picked up some. Prayers to those in Springfield, everyone stay alert and safe!!
Glad to be here, MOgirl

About two years ago a town about 15 miles NW of me was hit by a tornado (F4) that was 2 1/2 miles wide. It supposedly was the largest tornado in recorded history. I personally went out and drove through the countryside to see for myself, the breadth of this thing was amazing. The name of the town it hit was Hallam, NE.
