If Conyers becomes Judiciary Committee Chairman, yes it becomes more than a fevered fantasy. These people are deadly serious and while its partly payback for Clinton, there's also an element where they want to discredit Bush's policies. So if they win, I expect them to make it happen.

It seems almost beyong comprehension that an imcompetent buffoon like Conyers could become Chairman of an important committee like the Judiciary. However I suppose if the Democrats are a majority it is unlikely he will not.
There is no way the Demopcrats can choose anyone else. His race and his seniority will be the criteria and cannot cancel out the fact he is a half wit.
He may bring up the charges of impeachment , but I cannot see him getting the numbers required to put it over. The best thing is it would tie up the Congress for two years so they couldnt get anything worse thru, and perhaps that would be best.
