It's what an California based web company calls "unique advertising in the 21st century." A click of the mouse will soon let you see a local woman giving birth.

The St. Louis area mother-to-be, put her birth on eBay and got a winner. Asia Francis got 27 bids after putting a unique ad on eBay. The highest bidder was Globat-dot-com.

Asia Francis is now getting attention and 1000 dollars for putting her little girls arrival online. Francis says she considers the idea the perfect way to celebrate her first child. She also says her daughter can be proud of the moment, years from now.

All it takes for interested viewers to see the upcoming birth is a visit to DefyingGravity.Com. The new website shows off crazy advertising stunts from around the United States.

The CEO of Globat.com says the plan is to draw attention to an otherwise boring technology area. Ben Neumann expects to see more, unique advertising ideas, very similar to the sponsored child birth.

Asia Francis says in her case, the idea initially caught everyone off guard. Later, Francis said the reaction turned to excitement. Even Asia's grandma, an admitted eBay junkie, can't wait to see her grandchild online.

Globat.com says this is the first sponsored online birth involving someone from Missouri. They do promise that the pictures available from this birth will be family friendly.

Probably one of our clients down at the Probation and Parole office. I'll watch for decorated bellies. I'm assuming that's not her real name.

Globat just got millions of dollars of advertisement for $1000. Kind of like Golden Palce dot com does. Good marketing tactic, good use of money but I have my personal opinions about the "better judgement" side of this new form of advertising.
