THe supporters of this deal are not supporting Radical Islam. In fact we are in large part supporting a tool that will help in its destruction. Its the "lets declare war on Islam" folks that have the same goals as Bin Laden. Not saying you support his terrorism but he too wants this war.

I think it's very likely the GOP pays bloggers to post on this and other sites, don't you? If they'd pay Armtrong Williams...

Time to invest some money in the company that makes this.

Seems to be a big market for that.

Dubai is part of the 21st Century; they're into business - not jihad.

And they have Christian Churches there also.

I thought our allies enjoyed being tarred and feathered as head chopping Muslim maniacs coming to kill our children?!

If we weren't funneling billions and billions of dollars into their coiffers on a daily basis, do you really think they would be so agreeable to our western values.

Somehow I don't think so.

Not that they are raving lunatics aka Iran.

But Dubai/UAE did not voluntarily stop its cozy relationship with the Taliban and Usama bin Ladin. They only did so because they saw the powerful armies of the USA (in 1990 and again after 9/11)heading their way, pissed and loaded for bear.

And if they are such great allies, how come an American can NOT, I repeat, CAN NOT, own a business in their country. Check their govt. website if you don't believe me. All businesses must be 51-percent owned and run by a UAE citizen.

So please wake up. Yes, they love our dollars. But take them away, and you've taken away a lot of their tolerance for our Christian Judeo ethics.

How about this letter I dont think yours doesnt do the trick [sic] (Or, is your double-negative intentionally confirming that mine "did the trick"?)

Dear Emir
Thank God the Monarchy has more class, wisdom, tact, and good ole fashion horse sense than our United States Congress. Perhaps getting rid of King George the III was a mistake after all. Can you please trade us one of your Sultans for Speaker Hassert.
[... blah blah blah blah blah...]

Two points:

1. Nice rant, very outre, very "21st Century", very "Modern American", to go on a brown-nosing mission like that. I can't get into it myself, but by the same token, I'm not gonna pretend that any of that old-hat "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave" stuff fits in with the "current agenda."

2. Do you post for a living?

(A simple yes or no will suffice. In fact, I'm kinda predisposed to interpret anything other than a simple, direct "No." as a "Yes.")

a good ole fashion Southern conservative that is man enough to say we were wrong.

Puhleeze. Dubai will not do a damn thing regarding our military.

Why? THEY ARE ADDICTED to our American dollars just as much as we are addicted to their oil.

So please stop this lunacy belief that they have suddenly become in love with our Judeo Christian ethics.

If our dollars were to stop flowing to UAE/Dubai today, their friendship would suddenly be looking elsewhere for security, and I'm sure you are smart enough to figure out where that is.

Its amazing. They have a ton of churches there. Someone told me tonight it was illegal to have a bible in the UAE. Incredible the misinformation. They have some ways to go I agree but Americans need to realize that not every country can be an exact replica of the United States before we deal with them in a fair way.

Oh please. We know for a fact they paid a columnist to write favorable columns. Hell, if I were a GOP $$ contributor, I'd be pissed if they DIDN'T pay a few people to shill on these sites. It's such an obvious opportunity, only a totally ignorant moron wouldn't see it.

We have given our enemies a sword, and they will use it against us.

Dubai/UAE will do nothing against us. They are addicted to our dollars.

The best day for the USA will be the day we can tell the thugs in OPEC that we no longer need their oil. Why is there not a "Manhattan Project" going on right now to speed that day? The Energy Dept. ought to be shut down if they aren't working for US oil independence.

Yeah real smart, push them to the chicomms, all because of some ignorant knee jerk spasm of furriners having terminals in our ports(when 80% of the terminals are leased by furriners).

You really know how win and influence friends, don't you.

You seem to be quite verbose, even on dial-up. I'd leave you be. Anyway, laugh all you want, but the fact is that political blogging has been one of the huge news stories in the last couple of years. The impact of blogs is now well enough understood that most cable news outlets have their own blog sites. Everyone knows about blogs. And because you can post anonymously, it'd be so easy to have even one or two out there getting your word out, it'd be INSANE not to.

At least I am concerned about the stability of our bases there.

Please forgive me in advance, but YOU ARE SO NAIVE.

We pay Dubai/UAE billions and billions of dollars for the right to put our bases and ports on their soil. Check it out.

They don't allow us there because they are in love with the West.

If we were to stop sending our dollars there, do you really think they'd be so accomadating to our JUDEO-Christian ethics.

Somehow I don't think so.

THey can cert invest in the European markets and the growing Asian market. We are not the only show in town. As to the military in that post I was referring to the genuine warm regard they show our military while they are there. I dont think they are going to throw out the bases because of this one thing. But relationships between countries are like relationships between people. Enough small events like this are allowed to happen and problems result. also there is the issue of using the tools of commerce to fight the WOT in the entire region. How has that been effected? Fianlly the foreign policy of the USA is not hinged on folks accepting the Judeo/Christian ethic. If thats the case we better vote down that Indian deal we just did.

Actually, what we see is a triumph of economic patriotism over the loathsome free traitors.

Perhaps this represents a turning point, one which will see free traitin' expunged.

Ask the envirowhackos(such as your new hero chuckie schumer) why they block all existing and new methods of energy independence(drilling in ANWR, new nuclear plants, etc.etc).

BTW, the UAE sees the writing on the wall and are diversifying their economy away from oil, and they see trade as a way to get away from an oil economy.

Also, their "friendship" is skin-deep -- and it's the thin-skin of their ruling elite. The other day I read the results of some polling of their subjects. Real "make your blood run cold" stuff. OBL is very popular among the UAE's "great unwashed" -- oh, and we are very unpopular.

I'd cancel any reservations to the Kumbaya Kampfire party. Those folks do not like us. They are not our friends. They like our money, they fear our warships, and that's about the extent of it. Anyone who reads more into "the relationship" than that, well... they must be the favorite customer at the local auto dealer (and after buying a car, they bask in the glow of the experience, reflecting on how much the car dealer likes them... and respects them...)

Yeah, there really are people like that, sad to say.

But, there are also people whose job it is to present the image of being "folks like that" (which is sadder to say, IMO).

"Patriotism Is The Last Refuge Of Scoundrels"

It sometimes masks the agenda of bigotry, racism, religion, restriction of commerce, restriction of freedom, restriction of knowledge, and restriction of change.

Oh I see your point. No need to leave me alone lol. I agree with you. It seems that even a lot of what I call "blogspot" blogs have some influence out there. I have noticed at times that sometimes big bloggers "welcome" new blogs to the scene. I go to them and wonder why that was. Perhaps there just buds. But maybe there is more to it
