What a fascinating review!! Fascinating theory! Too bad the book is $50. But published by Notre Dame, that is not some fly-by-night publisher.
Yes I found it a very interesting subject (with modern consequences) that suffers from a dearth of scholarship. Most articles on the subject I've read are more efforts at polemics than efforts at relating history.
