Euthinasia and assisted suicide is
not dying with dignity. It's an opening to pandora's box and an absolut violation and perversion of a doctor's commitment to save lives IMHO...just like commiting an abortion is. It's two different ends of the same rope with which we will be bound with moral corruption if we continue down that path.
Sorry...but dignity in death was best exhibited to me by my dying brother, racked with unbelievable pain and suffering from Lymphoma, who died in my arms while he sought every medical and faith-based effort to prolong his life...and was a great example to all of us during those last suffering months.
When his time finally came, he accepted it with dignity and with faith in God, he went through the ordeal, looking forward in faith to the end of that physical suffering and an entry into God's realm and eternal peace. That was dignity and he knew that he could best serve it by setting an example for others to face the trials, chin up, faithful to the end.

I understand that China has realized the long term consequences of their one child policy and has relaxed the restrictions significantly. Chinese population growth has begun to accelerate. Still, the liquidation of useless eaters would be consistent with Chinese communist values--they need an infusion of next-generation labor, not unproductive consumers hanging around.

Indeed. I saw death with dignity in watching JPII pass, as well. In GOD'S time, not at Man's convenience.

That sorta reminds me of what the Chicoms did during the "cultural revolution": In order to ensure equality (regardless of intellectual ability) they sent college professors to the rice paddies and illiterate country folks to the colleges.
