Thanks. As most of the material appears to be drawn up by the Human Rights Watch group I'll have to find some opinions on the quality of their reporting - how far can I trust this organization? We know that many groups, such as Amnesty International, and others who say that the Guantanamo Bay is akin to the Gulags, are not notorious for the quality or truthfulness of their reporting.

I'm not saying I doubt this source or your point in all of this, just "trust but verify".

There seems to be a significant amount of distortion on this issue, which makes the veracity of the report sources all the more important.

Recall the films we all saw of people in their thousands with their pitiful belongings, fleeing? With tractors and horse-drawn carts? Didn't that tug at your heartstrings?

Turns out they were Serbs fleeing from the Nato bombing, not poor poor muslims. Hey, we weren't so savvy then, it was before 9/11...

Try this one for size. Morton Abramowitz was a board member of Human Rights Watch AND diplomatic adviser to KLA terrorist group in Rambouillet 'peace" talks. It can be mildly described as Conflict of interest, or harshly calling HRW a shill for terrorist organisation connected to Al Qaeda .

Madeleine Albright, Richard Holbrooke and Leon Feurth invented the theory of HUmanitarian intervention. Abramowitz worked with terrorists to create humanitarian crisis, Albright workded as a head of State Department provided diplomatic and military support.

Consulting HRW documents for alleged attrocities is comparable to consulting Mein Kampf to assess Jewish guilt for start of WWII. They are propaganda aparatus linked to terrorists, not human rights organisation.
