The amount of corruption has to do with each individual's morals and character. Some have more or less fiber than others. Gary Condit was quite excessive.

You know...this is the Oscar-winner material for a screenplay? First, you have an idiot who looked good in front of the camera and knew how to fund-raise...so he ran for congress and won. You have his wife...who was a certified nut...refused to go to DC and live there...and lived almost a totally separate life from the husband. You have the immature staff aid who carries on the affair with the congressman. You have the congressman's son who is a liar and likely will face jail time. And there are likely another dozen characters inbetween. With the right actors and Clint Eastwood directing...I've got my Oscar for a screenplay right now.

Am I remembering right that when Condit and his kids appeared on Larry King Live during the height of the Chandra Levy search, BOTH Chad and Cadee referred to their dad solely by his first name? "When Gary said this," "Gary cares about the people," and so on? They never once called him "Dad," I don't think. It was so weird Larry King even asked them about it, and the explanation was pretty unenlightening. Convinced me right then that the whole family was seriously weird, since he was trying to show what a normal family man he was on that appearance!
