AS DNI Negroponte has to have decent relationships with the intelligence organizations of other nations in order to do his job effectively. It would be nice to embarrass the leaders of our "allies" who have been less than fully supportive of our efforts. However, by doing so we could strain our relationships with their intelligence professionals and jeopardize our long-term interests.

So, we sacrifice American interests and our world image for those that wouldn't pee on us if we were on fire? Funny how that ally thing works.

There are many good post on this threat, but yours really makes a good point. Such things are sensitive, but we do really need to get the truth out -- or am I just eager to see some left-wing a-holes eat crow!
