The word "expedite" means to hasten. It doesn imply when and it doesn't impy how.

Are you going tell me with a *straight face* that the President would imply when using the word "expedite" that all reasonable security measures should be bypassed. If not are you going to document where Negroponte said that the documents should not be put out as fast as possible and meeting all security needs?

Now I see that what your problem is: you're immune to logic because you're engaged in pure sophistry. Yes, Virginia, the word "expedite" does "imply when". If you don't believe it, just look at how long it took for General Honore to show up in New Orleans after President Bush said he was dissatisfied with the Federal response to Hurricane Katrina. No, I don't think that President wants to compromise reasonable security procedures, but then again I also know that once the decision is made to commit the manpower to the job (which was the President's implied task to Mr. Hadley), it takes hours and days to sanitize intelligence information, not weeks, months and years. If Negroponte is "on board" with that (something I cannot deduce from his statements), then fine: he's a "great American". If not he's just another "behind the green door" clown, who has been conspicuously mute about previous CIA leaks that appeared to damage the President, but deeply concerned about compromising national security where information which tends to vindicate the President is in play.

By the way, Mr. Negroponte said that the translated tapes don't say anything that would change the CIA's post-war analysis of Iraq's WMD programs. Do you know what that analysis was (from the CIA website)? "Saddam wanted to recreate Iraq's WMD capability-which was essentially destroyed in 1991-after sanctions were removed..." Maybe you (and Mr. Negroponte) don't see the difference between that statement and the reported discussions of moving and hiding the elements of an on-going and active WMD program on the tapes, but a lot of other people who have commented on this thread do. Which is precisely why this information needs to see the light of day A.S.A.P. (that's not as soon as possible, but as soon as practical).
