Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman yesterday told an election-year gathering of party faithful that Democrats want to retreat from the war on terror, raise taxes and appoint judges to legislate liberally from the bench.

Taking a stand politically requires a person to evaluate ALL of the positions of one party vs. ALL of the positions of the other. Mehlman is one of the best at pointing out why no one should decide in favor of returning the Democrats to power -- which would, in effect, endorse ALL of their positions.

C'mon. Most of us here on this forum don't have any problems voting against democRats. I'm waiting around to hear good reasons to vote FOR Republicans.

It is "all or nothing" conservatives that kept us in the minority until Reagan. We are now moving the party in our direction, but politics is a game that has no end as does not change course overnight.

Learn patience and you will be victorious. Act out of impulse and you will lose all.

I consider that outsourcing.

The true movement of global corporatism is a world without borders where labor moves freely cross border to take any job that they can do. It will be applicable from the highly educated professions to the low-end labor sets. Any job that can be done, IOW, is free to the labor market and free to set the lowest price for that labor.

We can be good loyal citizens and believe in sovereignty, rule of law and still see the benefits of outsourcing when necessary.

We have heard caterwauling about outsourcing ever since Bush took office and yet, unemployment is falling and job creation going through the roof. Wages are also rising.

Bush has understood the necessity of tax cuts. It's always worked before and it's worked again.

I can see the validity of your argument when it comes to matters of national security; it's not good policy to outsource the production of F-16s to India, for example.

With regard to consumer electronics, however, I would argue that national security is not involved. For example, DVD players can be produced in Malaysia much more cheaply than they can be manufactured in America. Lower labor costs mean lower costs for the consumer. Thus, more people will be able to purchase DVD players. Accordingly, I would state that the free movement of labor and capital produces more goods at a lower cost.

Mehlman may have his job cut out for him? I heard that there is a certain Republican Member of Congress that will ask Bush and Cheney to resign and if not will attempt to impeach Bush with the impression Cheney will then step down if successful. This member has a lot to gain if he succeeds, including a very, very high Executive Office position even if the Republican's lose the '06 elections and this is why he is trying to get it done before the elections. He has already received the blessing for at least 5 other Republican members. This person has been contacting the MSM with certain negative stories about Bush and Cheney in order to gain allies to accomplish his plans and has just recently reached across the isle for support. In the next month or so watch it being attempted. I'm also aware that there is certain Conservative Web Site Members that are trying to assist in this endeavor. I believe Bush is aware of this plan but I don't know that for sure.

Well you just nailed it, you are now moving the party further to the left and conservatives are getting sick of it. If the Republicans don't want conservatives in their party any more, I'm sure you will be able run a few more of us off.

It is conservatives like you that constantly see the glass half full and are willing to condemn the entire organization for the shorcomings of the few.

Conservatives overcome setbacks. You want to throw in the towel.

Nothing in writing but info from a former worker for a current Congressman. This person has been gone for a couple years but he's insightful to the game. I actually asked this person why the "rift" all the sudden in the congress and he gave me a quick lesson on Politics 101. When the majority party feels they are losing they will always target the Executive because most congressmen feel it's always the Executives fault and that's when the power grab begins. Look at which Congressman has the most to gain and then look at his recent actions while keeping an eye on his future actions. Remember the sign from Reuters the other day behind Cheney that said "RETIRE"? That was no accident. I know some will tell me to put a tin foil hat on but the person I spoke to hasn't been too far off the mark since I've known him, years now.
