At my daughter's high school a guidance counselor prevented a teacher from giving food to a student who was having a hypoglycemic attack because school policy provides that only the school nurse can treat an ill student. Our schools are filled with bureaucrats who are unable to think for themselves.

I'm going to guess that the school nurse is only there part time, So if it's Tuesday, the student has to wait until he/she's back on Wednesday.

What do I win?

No, you don't win. Sorry. The nurse is full-time. In this instance they were on a field trip. One of the buses had to make a stop (That's another story) and the nurse was on the other bus. The stop ended up taking a long time and the kids missed lunch. So the hypoglycemic student had a low-blood sugar attack. Instead of giving the student something to eat -- as one of the teachers had a snack bar -- the guidance counselor called for an ambulance instead. They took the student to the hospital where the kid had something to eat.

It's no wonder our school systems are sending out morons into the world, as our educators are morons themselves.
