If this keeps up, I may have to re-evaluate my position on Senator McCain:

"WRITE IN BUSH" Update
Posted by H-Bomb on Friday, 10 March 2006 (14:24:42) EST

This is an update to my earlier post on the Southern Republican Leadership Conference straw poll.

I just saw Chris Matthews' report from Memphis on MSNBC. According to his sources, it appears Sen. John McCain -- ever the keen weathervane of public opinion -- will withdraw his name from the SRLC straw poll and instead urge conferees to vote for ...

George W. Bush. (Sound familiar?)

Sen. McCain will apparently throw his support behind the president as a symbolic gesture of Republican solidarity. You can chalk up all that "Republicans running from Bush" talk up to Mainstream Media wishful thing, I suppose.

By the way ... my sources tell me Sen. McCain will not be alone in urging conferees to "Write in Bush" -- we haven't heard the last of this developing story, I suspect.

You don't think this is just a sort of "pandering condescension" by McCain....like he is saying "Bush needs MY help now, I will do this...and he will OWE me (support in 08)"????
