KSDK-The fiance of an Illinois Marine who died in Iraq has given birth to their daughter.
Brea Tate was seven months pregnant when Corporal Jonathon 'Kyle' Price died from injuries suffered while on guard duty in Ramadi.
The 19 year old was from Woodlawn, Illinois.
Brea delivered a healthy baby girl on Monday. Her name: Madison Kay Price.
Kyle Price was scheduled to come home from Iraq less just a few weeks after he was killed. He was scheduled to marry Brea Tate in March.
Soon after Kyle Price became an Eagle Scout, he decided to join the Marines. "He enlisted in November of his senior year when I had to sign the paper," said Kyle's mother, Cheryl Hunsell.
In August of 2004, Kyle was deployed to Iraq working with fellow Marines to protect a Marine camp. In January, two Marines approached John Hunsell's front door in Woodlawn, Illinois. John is Kyle's stepfather. "I just sat down in my chair. There was no other reason for them to be here," he said at the time.
On January 18th, the body of Lance Corporal Jonathan Kyle Price arrived in St. Louis. He was fatally shot in Ramadi during combat. Kyle's parents told NewsChannel 5 they were overwhelmed by the solemnity and scope of this ceremony that included St. Louis police and firefighters.
"For us to have lost Kyle, but yet to see him treated as such a hero and to be honored by people who didn't even know him, it really gives you a good feeling," said Cheryl. "It was just amazing. It really was. We were in total shock because we didn't know that they did that. We had no idea," said John.
The support for Kyle's family remains evident in Woodlawn, with signs at gas stations and a church in Kyle's memory.
His family says they'll make it a point to teach Madison about the father she will never have the chance to meet. "All of this he's been given in sacrifice will show her his character, and what he believed in and just truly what a good person her daddy is," said Cheryl.

That sure sounds familiar. My Dad was a Marine and died a couple months before I was born.

Ohhh... dammit.
It's heartbreaking, that we should have to lose such fine young men.
A thousand of the filth that they fight is not the equal of one of these, yet fight them they must. It is pathetic that all I can say is thank you.
