Thats your opinion and I would not attempt change however I think we grow more socialist.

socialism and democracy are not the same thing. One represses the individual in favor of the whole the other celebrates the individual. A truly democratic man is a freeman. I can see your point that some of the things that have been put into place over the years are socialist like Soc Sec, medicare, welfare, etc but that is not the same as giving the people more power. That is giving them less power to control their future. Socialism leads to repression and rule by the elite. Look at France, Soviet Union, China, etc.
