"The Task Force finds that the most reliable information is produced by recognized, respected professional organizations which adhere to a strict standard of objective, peer-reviewed scientific study and which represent the consensus of the scientific community."

Basically, there's not enough information to answer the question other than to say sometimes the answer is agree, and sometimes it is disagree, depending on which professional organization we are talking about.

For example, the ACM (a computer scientist organization) tends to render pretty reliable information as it relates to all subjects of computer science including computability, computational capability, algorithm analysis, discrete math, quantum computing, etc ad nauseam.

OTOH, we have the American Bar Association for lawyers. If the state of thought on Constitutional law in this country is any indicator, well I think you get the point.

Well, I thought the operative word here was "scientific". And no group promotes junk science like attorneys. They can find a well credentialed expert that will support virtually any theory. But I digress.

The quote in question came from a 2005 government study on abortion. Now, you pro-choice and pro-lifers, which side did they come down on after that statement?
