What if Obama is engaged in pious fraud? This is a Muslim practice of
pretending not to be Muslim to further the cause of Islam or to
"defend the faith".

I don't know if this fall under the techinal term "taqiya",
but there's another aspect to this.
IIRC, a Muslim apostate is under a sentence of death (fatwa) for deserting
the faith.
So, if Obama isn't constantly looking over his shoulder for assassins,
my naive guess is that he's operating for Islam, while posing as
a well-educated, pious Christian for political purposes.
