..it's not "in the mind" what future bank robbers should be thinking about
Doogle
what?
........ a retired registered nurse, Devine worked in a surgical MASH unit during the Korean War.
Will Maj. Margaret 'Hot Lips' O'Houlihan end up like this?
It was her Chrysler Reliant's top speed.
Probably the same thing that happened to them when Lawrence Taylor was allowed to continue being a role model for our children after multiple offences involving illegal drug use, or O.J. Simpson's getting a pass for the Nicole Brown Simpson, Ron Brown killings, or when Congress refused to convict BJ Clinton for lying.
It depends on what the meaning of "what" is. ;)
I saw how slow she walked. I have to wonder how she even got away.
LOL
On KDKA this morning they actually reported that she had, "lead police on a slow speed chase."
"I just had a mental breakdown," she said of the incident that placed her in jail Monday. "I'm sorry that I did that and upset those young people. They were very professional about it. I wasn't out to intend to hurt anybody. I won't do anything like this again."
Oh ........... ok.
I certainly know that this is a sympathetic story if there are any sympathetic stories for robbing a bank, but really, if they let this woman off, some surrounding areas of Pittsburgh are pretty depressed areas these days, and that certainly could give others who are down and out a thought of doing the same thing................ and just think if they actually get away with it.
;-)
*****
Butch Cassidy: What happened to the old bank? It was beautiful.
Guard: People kept robbing it.
Butch Cassidy: Small price to pay for beauty.
Hmmm, she had enough money to color her hair.
Followed by a 2 block, 2 mph walker chase....
Yeh, she wasn't moving too well.
****
"She was under extreme duress when she committed this crime," Geary said. "It was a desperate act, perhaps a cry for help."
--- "a cry for help" -- hey sonny, help me stuff this money in my bag!"
You don't see too many 74 year old women with hair that long.
LOL ......... remember 'Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid'?
Butch Cassidy: [spanish] Manos a... Manos, um... [Butch pulls out a card that helps him remember his words]
Butch Cassidy: Manos arriba!
Sundance Kid: They got 'em up! Skip on down.
Butch Cassidy: Arriba!
Sundance Kid: Skip on down!
Butch Cassidy: Todos ustedes "arrismense" a la pared.
Sundance Kid: They're against the wall already!
Butch Cassidy: Donde... Ah, you're so damn smart, You read it!
That whole movie was so funny. Here is a great site with many of the memorable scenes:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064115/quotes
When the certainty of swift and certain punishment is no longer adhered to, chaos soon follows.
It's not my fault
Someone cheated me
I got laid off
A storm hit my house
My husband spent all the money
I have a disability
I didn't ask for this
I didn't do anything to deserve this
Life is so unfair
You're right .......... as always.
I know a few. But then, I'm a PA redneck.;^)
So this is how Boomers are going to pay for retirement?
Presuming Granny is not a career criminal, letting her off will have no- that is ZERO role model effects and will encourage ZERO others to rob banks and will have ZERO effects on peoples' estimation of the efficacy if the judicial system. Reations from nonbitter non jackbooted citizens will range from snickers to "oh the poor dear."
