There is a controversy brewing that has become known as Roe v. Wade for men. An unwed father in Michigan believes if women have a right to choose, then men should have that right, also. He is filing a lawsuit, claiming his child support payments violate his constitutional rights.
Matthew Dubay is the unwed father from Saginaw who has filed the suit in federal court, saying his court ordered child support payments violate his constitutional rights.

When they invent an effective birth control pill for men, watch how quickly virtue will return to the American female. Once the man can live free with out any chance of getting females pregnant, the females will change the playing field so quick, it will make your head spin.

In the dogma of liberalism and court activism, men are patriarchal and oppressors, and therefore do not qualify for special rights that emanate from the penumbra of the Constitution.

"He chose, I mean really, he chose that risk. And everybody knows where babies come from. It was his choice before the child was even conceived. That was where his choice was," Hey, that argument doesnt work for women!

According to Dubay, "I do feel I was blindsided by this woman. She is now making me pay for a child, when she knew up front that I was not ready to be a parent at this point." His ex-girlfriend Lauren Wells, who is raising their daughter, disagrees.
"He chose, I mean really, he chose that risk. And everybody knows where babies come from. It was his choice before the child was even conceived. That was where his choice was," Wells stated.
I've listened to versions of this all day. Funny as heck, in a sad sort of way, to listen to it.
Representatives from various feminist organizations have been arguing the same line as did Texas back during Roe v. Wade. They're trapped by the hypocrisy of the rhetoric. The smart thing would be for them to just keep quiet.
Bottom line, you sire a child, if you're worth a damn, you do everything you can to care for him or her.

With the availability of unlimited abortion and the social pressure to have one to be fulfilled as a woman, there is no longer acually any reason to require a man to pay for a child. It is a woman's choice to abort or not. choice choice choice The whole idea of abortion is just plain evil but the logic of a society permitting and promoting it militates against assigning responsibility for a baby to a man.

The idea of passing along the expenses of raising your child to the taxpayers is exceedingly immoral. People should take care of their own offspring or agree to allowing them to be adopted.

"Ready or not, here I come!" Seems appropriate here. It could also be modified to say, "Like it or not, here I come!"

Sounds like you might know someone who has had a bad experience. But men already have the option of not having sex with any woman they don't want to have a child with, don't they?

I agree. While I think it is reprehensible for a woman to lie about being on the Pill in order to trap a guy, it's not the resulting child's fault. When you have sex, you are taking a risk that birth control will fail (or won't be used at all). Women who want abortions and men (like the one in this case) who whine that they SAID they don't want kids are cut from the same cloth.

True, but in a way, this guy has a point. Women talk about their "right to choose", but in a society that uses force of law to shackle men to child support payments for 18+ years, often for children that turn out not even to be his, and arbitrarily determines those amounts, but then hands them over to the mother to do as she pleases with no oversight, the woman's right to choose "to determine what happens with her own body" means that she also gets to choose what happens with the man's body for the duration of the forced payments. If she chooses to abort, he has no obligations (but also loses his child). If she chooses to have the baby, he becomes an indentured servant to her, with the government acting as her muscle. In other words, the penalty for engaging in the act of sex, for a man, is that he must then have much of the course of his life dictated to him by the woman.
And before anyone gets all high and mighty about men's responsibilities, I would like to point out that many men would love to get custody of their children, and pay for ALL fo their expenses, but US family court is ridiculously skewed against men, who win custody in very few cases. So, while not being allowed to take full resonsibility for their children as a father should, they are still forced to pay funds to the money who can spend it however she sees fit, whether its on the children or not, all because it is her "choice".

Usually, but the men are complaining yet will continue to put their futures at risk with risky sex. If you don't want to be a father, don't have sex with a woman who may become pregnant. Why is that difficult?

So true. Why not just have a vasectomy or tubal and not worry about becoming parents? People like this probably wouldn't make good parents anyway.
