Well Done. Way to pretty much guarantee the Democrats will take the US Senate back this year. Probably the US House if the Texas case goes against us. Great job doing the Democrats PR dirty work for them you fools.

The ONE issue the Republicans had the edge on was National Security. Way to take a Democrat Senate Election year ploy and feverishly propagandize it. Way to mindlessly regurgitate the lies, disinformation and guilt by association being pumped out by Chucky Schumer and the Democrats PR Machine. Spare us the pseudo Conservatism. Actions speak louder then words.

Let's not kid ourselves here. The Port Deal Hysteria had NOTHING to do with National Security, the facts or better ideas. It had to do with the Whine All The Time Choir being mad at Bush. Since they were mad, they keep searching for new things to have a hissy fit about. The latest thing was the Port Deal.

The opposition to the Port Deal had NOTHING to do with facts, reason or data. It had to do with an emotionally hysteric temper-tantrum. The Whiners were simply desperate to "Get even with Bush" for spending or immigration or whatever; so they did NOT even bother to learn a single fact. Their opposition on the Port Deal has everything to do with their personal political bigotry and hate, NOTHING to do with the facts.

Only problem is this hissy fit is going to pretty much destroy the Republican Majority. The ONE thing the Republicans had going for them was the National Security Issue. You have all thrown that away by rabidly regurgitating the Democrats PR Talkingpoints. Well done. Way to actively work to elect Democrats. Congratulation. Rush Limbaugh was the Majority Maker, You fools will all be remembered as the Minority Creators.

Ahh, the voice of reason. The bad UAE with their Nightclubs, resorts, , banking, and trade lines. Sorry the UAE couldnt provide you any scenes of out of control mobs, women not being able to live the home, or Moslems bombing each other. But yeah I am sure they are all the same.

Lie about it, spin it, rationalize it. Your position is based on personal bigotry and ignorance Huck. You hate Bush. Fine, but don't bother to pretend it has ANYTHING to do with the facts.

Arab ally is correct. GWB is a lame duck.

We also have a republican congress lacking cojones that's thinking more about keeping their seats this coming November and are following the minority democrats' lead.

Maybe they think they'll be more helpful if they're still around to help come 2007?

Arabs and Muslims have a public relations problem in America. GWB has a public relations problem when it comes to borders. Nobody should be surprised by that.

Mr Bush had warned repeatedly that blocking the deal would send a dangerously discriminatory message to the world.

This is what PO's me about Bush and the entire collective of politicos!

WTH are we on the defensive with such a message? What on earth of a reason is there for anyone, nation or individual, practically, to believe that the US is a "discriminatory" nation?!

Perhaps W could get off his duff and start talking about some of the more noteworthy things that we as a nation and people have done, such as save the world's bacon on several occasions!

I don't believe this crap!

Meanwhile, our borders are all but freely opened with everyone knowing full well that once you're in you're in, w/ rare exceptions, b/c amnesty will eventually come your way.

when you think of it , it's kinda sad, that the GOP has just one issue going for it..seems they had at one time many more. Bush is OK on WOT , slipped up with Meirs, and
his tax cuts were welcome..but his big spending ways will guarantee a new round of higher taxes to pay for his deficits ..if you disagree tell me where.

He threatened repeatedly to veto any congressional legislation.

Nobody takes a GWB veto threat seriously.

Nonsense. You fool no one. Your hate and political bigotry is transperent in every one of your postings. Spare us the psuedo intellectual posturing. It has nothing to do with fact, information or data. It has to do with your own emotional political derangement. You hate Bush. Fine but don't pretend it has anything to do with any intellectual or rational position on your part.

And if the republicans lose congress now, Bush can reasonably say it's because they acted contrary to their principles to try to react to polls rather than leading.

Absolutely true.

And he will probably be STRONGER since the remaining republicans will need him to overcome the democrat majority.

Not so sure. The Dems never found a consistent philosophy as a minority, and I don't think the GOP will, either. They don't have one as a majority - they just can afford to lose a few votes.
We have mighty few "statesmen" in DC, in either party.

I find it hard to believe that there are people who think GWB is better than Reagan.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the headline. The president shouldn't have "control" - he should have leadership. Big difference, IMHO.
