Prayers up! May I ask, spread from where? I had liver cancer due to Alpha One, got a liver transplant at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville which saved my life because it was contained in the liver. Would this be possible for you? Can you give more details? I can get you a clinic number if you wish. In the meantime, I'm praying for you!

Thank you Greccogirl.

Well, it isn't in the liver, but on the liver. And the liver is a secondary site. It has spread to the liver from...somewhere else, probably in the digestive system. Tomorrow I am scheduled for CT scan to hopefully find where all of it is.

I had my gallbladder removed last week, and the doctor told me that he had find a flat spot on my liver the size of a dime while he was in there. This was purely by accident that he found this, but thank GOD above that he did. He did a biopsy and told me that it is a malignant carcinoid tumor and that it is definately spread to the liver as opposed to the liver being the primary site.

I've been doing research on this parctiular form of cancer and from what I'm reading from other people with this disease, I'll probably be around for a while yet since this grows very slowly. Since it has already spread to the liver, I may not be able to just have the damn thing cut out.

The good news is that I'm asymptomatic. Most people are diagnosed after years of strange symptoms, which puts me ahead of the game. I'm going to be attacking this thing before I get symptoms rather than having to wait another 10 or more years probably for the symptoms to begin and then for doctors to misdiagnose me over and over before they stumble on the fact that I have carcinoid cancer.

So thank you for your interest, and I apologize for going into so much detail, but you asked for it. ;-)

And to all the Freepers who've been contacting me and to those who are praying for me without posting (I've done that many times), a great big THANK YOU! I love you all.
