Maybe it is birth order also. I've told my hubbie that if we had had our girl first there never would have been a son...meaning a second child. The son has been much easier than she is and we have had him around 4 years longer.
Blush.
Oh, yes. I have three girls and one boy. The boy is going to visit Grandma and Grandpa for two weeks so Mom can have a break. :)
Of course, he IS bi-polar. I don't know what raising a "normal" boy is like.
Which leads me to believe that authorities thought this was a runaway rather than an abduction.
While that's certainly a possibility, the article isn't really too clear on that point. This story has had red flags all over it from day one.
I'm not even sure what a "normal" boy is - lol. My has been a challenge to say the least! He's 19 now and it hasn't gotten any easier!
When kids text message they use abbreviations and substitutions. Like saying "u" for you, "2" for to, too etc. the text message they sowed on TV was complete sentences and correct spelling. I thought that odd.
If my daughter hadn't followed so closely on the heels of my son (19 mos. apart) my son would probably be an only child. He hit about 18 months, and he went bonkers.
Wow. Thanks for the encouragement. :)
Gotcha...but I never had to physically throw any of my sons' girlfriends out of the house. (Actually did throw one of the girls' "boyfriends" out - the reaction from the HS peanut gallery? "Why is your dad so crazy?")
I DID physically threw my sons gf out. 3 days later, my son broke up with her. For good.
Mother knows best.
Just another little hot pants story?
i heard she just didn't want to get married... so, she made up this big story that had police going all...
oh wait a minute....... my bad, old thread...
>>>I didn't think she went willingly. I guess my perception of a 13 year old girl is somewhat removed from reality.>>>
Yes, it is.
Sometimes I thought my two boys must be semi-polar. They are 14 months apart in age and there was a time in their lives when I thought that one would be in prison for the rest of his life for killing the other one and the only question was which would be which.
They turned out to be fine young men though and now are friends and actually love each other.
F.R. etiquette says I should ping them when talking about them, since they are both members here but I'll not do it because...........I'm the Dad!
#2 son is much more of a tantrum throwing beast than #1 son was. First boy never threw red butted baboon fits in stores. #1 son drives me nuts in other ways, but he was much easier as far as the tantrums go. I don't know what it's related to--different boys, different parenting, birth order, but they are different in that respect. We'll see how #3 turns out--being a girl throws a different kink into it as well. I'm just hoping she is mostly calm and a little bit on the quiet side.
Jr High through HS was hell with (it seemed) every low-life within fifty miles knowing that we had three beauties under one roof. Things worked out ok though, but I got pretty tired of playing the tough guy. (Hell, it seems like just last week that I was trying to master the blind, one-handed clasp release myself!)
That's hysterical. I just hope I can remember it whenever the occasion arises to use it.
The TV network "sowed" correct spelling back into the text message?
Our daughter is 18 and the only girl after 3 boys. In jr. high we caught boys UP ON OUR ROOF at 2AM trying to get her to let them in the house!!! And these were NICE boys! lol
We lived through it and now's she's about to graduate from H.S. Her college of choice is a small, Christian, CONSERVATIVE college where no boys are allowed in the girls dorm except for 3 hours on Friday night. If we could have convinced her, she would be going to a nunnery!! :)
