Alliances with ME countries -- except for Israel -- are tenuous at best, mostly chimerical.
Kuwait is our friend because we literally saved their buts.

What more can we do for the rest of the world?
The whole world should love us because of all the outsourcing of jobs, the humanitarian aid, the lives that have been sacrificed, the business that pours out from the U.S.

Maybe Turkey had some misgivings about a subculture of it's getting a separate homeland. How would you feel if Turkey had a fight with Mexico and promised an independent homeland for Mexican Americans in Arizona if we would just let them push their army through Arizona to get to Mexico. We will just cede Arizona? Get a grip. Unless your willing to bludgeon the rest of the world into compliance, everyone is not going to ask how high when you say jump.
