Worth repeating, this is a step BACKWARDS in diplomacy. The UAE was an ally and this is now an embarassment to the administration and the American people. The port secuity HAS NOT CHANGED.

I'd have to say that it is a giant step backwards in security as well. We have to be more worried about who is loading what in foreign ports onto ships bound for US ports and that takes allies we can use to find trouble before it starts. Otherwise we are just sitting ducks. Once the ship sails into a US port, regardless of who is operating what there, it is too late.

And not a peep about financial firms moving operations to Dubai. I'd think financial security would be a big deal also...
